Questions about my setup

There’s a little manual switch that says on1, off, and on 2. It was set to off. That explains that. I switched it to on 2 and now it’s pointing toward the pump

Changed from so to pool and the return valve moved as you would expect 180 degrees. The return valve did nothing

Check the toggle switch on the side of the actuator and see that it is not in the middle OFF position.

This is very wrong and dead heads your pump turning off all water input to the pump!

I think the cam on your intake actuator needs to be adjusted so the valve only turns 90 degrees between the green and red lines.

The valve rotating 180 degrees deadheads your pump intake.

here is the new spillover position. Yeah the pump was just surging

This is wrong. Look at handle positions versus pics I sent you.

This setup is intake from the spa drain and return to the pool.

Thanks again. Looks like I just need to adjust that valve. My pool guy did not do me any favors. Is that something I do with the Hayward control panel or with a screwdriver (per se)?

It does seem the section valve needs to only turn 90 degrees. Is that an easy adjustment for me to make or do I need to get a professional?

Actuator manual is at https://hayward.com/media/akeneo_connector/asset_files/0/9/092051B_RevE_fbb3.pdf and attached to this post.

So when it was in the spa mode (correct spa mode) the returns were pouring into my spa as expected but it was basically empty.....

I have lost track.

Was your spa empty because a prior test drained your spa?

If your spa is now empty then put both actuators toggles to OFF and manually move the handles to the SPILLOVER position as my pic showed and run your pump.

Oh man I have been changing cam positions and now I have taken about three wrong turns and am afraid I’m going to mess things up. I just unplugged the pump until I can figure it out
