Questions about levels, why I am getting skewed results, and quick thoughts, advice while I wait to receive one of your test kits

My bad.
I'm really not retarded... like I said I guess I just need to go inside when I record test results. So how much muriatic acid should I add if the percentage on the bottle says 20%. Should I use 28 and subtract a little bit kind of use my best judgment?

Let's double check that acid strength.
Usually when the bottle says "90% lower fumes" it's not 31.45%.
Post a picture of the ingredients part of the label.

Suggest you do ALL tests inside in bright light - except the CYA test.
Maybe at the kitchen counter with the lights on.
It's cooler inside, you'll be more comfortable and it will be easier to record the results in PoolMath.

Is there an ingredient list or percentage shown on the actual bottle?
If so, post a pic of that.

Chances are it's 14.5%-ish.

From the SDS
3. COMPOSITION/INFORMATION ON INGREDIENTS
Concentration
7647-01-0 Hydrochloric acid {Hydrogen chloride} 10.0 -30.0 %
Additional Chemical Specific percentage of composition is being withheld as a trade secret.

I wouldn't pour anything into my pool unless the chemical composition is clearly stated on the container label.
It it is not on the label, you can find it on the SDS or MSDS. I would not add it if any of the ingredients on the SDS or MSDS are listed as "Proprietary."

The % is trade secret. NOT the ingredient.

It is fine to use. Put in 14.5% in pool math when you calculate and you will be fine.

Ok. I thought the % would matter but just as well that it doesn't
The percentage only matters as it will affect how much you add to adjust the pH a certain amount.
For example, maybe 'xx' oz of 31.45% will lower pH 0.4 and it will take a bit more than twice that amount of 14.5 % to lower the pH the same amount.

Just choose the correct percentage in PoolMath and dose as it recommends.
Check the pH 30 minutes later to see if pH changed the expected amount.

Values today look the same as last test. Bad news, I lost my cya tube. Is there anything I can do while I wait for a new one to come in? Just double checking, should I still add the recommended amount of muriatic acid.?

No need to test CYA more than monthly - unless you notice your FC is getting used up faster than normal. As CYA degrades a little over time, the normal chlorine demand can increase.

Lower your pH now using muriatic acid.

Hi.
TC 5
PH 8.2
ALK 110
CH 100

Cool Math recommended to courts 2 cups of 14.5% muriatic acid. That is my plan. I have a question about calcium hardness. When testing after adding the r0011l, it was a pinkish purple, but not red. Then it only took five drops of to get to blue.
Something seems not quite right to me. I'm not sure why the level would be so off base from what it looks like the recommended level is and I really don't understand where it says to add over 30 pounds of something to correct. 30 pounds?
