Hey all,
I've kept a crystal clear pool all summer even with pump going out and a week straight of rain using my TF 100 kit and your forum tips and advice. I haven't fought algae except at the beginning and everything has been less worry and work! With that said, I am questioning the Total Alkalinity and pH levels I've been keeping. Most of the season, the pH level has been kept between 7.5 and 7.8 and has stayed there, not shooting up like in years past. However, my Alkalinity has been at 50-60 all summer. Pool math says to add baking soda but I resisted because I read on another forum post that each pool is different and once you find the alkalinity level it likes, the pH will stabilize. Even with rain, pool parties, no pump for 4 days, everything, my pH stays between those numbers. Should I be concerned about the lower alkalinity level? I have gallons of MA and a huge bag of baking soda waiting to be used! Should I just put them in storage or ???
