I have a question about how much actual chlorine is being added by various products. The query came about when someone on a FB page talked about how much cheaper Cal Hypo is than liquid chlorine.
For instance, my local Canadian Tire has 18 kg of granular CalHypo - "Available chlorine content 65%". Does that mean that every kilogram of granules contains 650 grams of chlorine? Similarly, does one litre (roughly one kilogram) of 10.8% liquid chlorine have 108 grams of chlorine?
I dunno if this is better suited for The Deep End and if so can the mods move it? I'm hoping to learn something here though, if only to intelligently discuss pool care with my puck loving neighbour.
