Question on dual speed pump wiring

I just replace my single speed pump motor with a dual speed motor. I ordered the toggle switch but it's back ordered. Without the switch, for now I just connect the 2 hot wires to L1 and L2 so the pump is running at the high speed only. Based on the diagram, it seems that if I connect the hot wires to A and L2, the pump runs at low speed. Is that correct?

Correct. Pick which speed you want to wire it to run at until you get the 2 speed switch..
