Question for Long Island NYers.

When is the earliest you ever opened up your pool? The Weathers starting to get nice and we re did our pool and added an Avia gas 404,000 BTU heater and can’t wait to get in it lol

Just wanted to hear some thoughts!

Pool days are almost upon us!

Pretty soon I'll start bringing all the patio stuff out that got stored for the winter. Then I'll reassemble the equipment pad (also stored away) and if I'm impatient and fire it right up I'll let it run under the cover until the first week in April.

I open my pool around April 15th.

If you do not have a pool cover, you lose too much heat during the cold nights to heat the pool before early May. Opening in April gives me a chance to get everything running and fix any problems that show up.

That’s a great idea to start around April especially if there’s any issues. It’ll be the earliest I ever opened my pool. Use to do it first week of June (before the heater) But I want as much time with the pool as I can get!!

We put ours obnoxiously front and center to see it all the time. I was worried about the dogs falling through the ice the couple of times it freezes each year so we got a safety cover. The dogs were ripping the brand new cover so I had to safety fence the area to protect the cover which was meant to protect the dogs.

Not only do I want to enjoy looking at the pool, I really really want to stop looking at the keepaway9000.

Sorry that the weather cooled off. Long story but I was itching to open the pool and a rainbow appeared one afternoon landing on it and now it's cold because I opened a couple weeks ago.

Hah so you’re is opened?? Saturday saying almost 80 I’m itching to open mine haha
