Hi all,
I'm self-installing an Aquasport 52 pool (15' x 24', oval). Overall, I like the kit (although the instructions have lots of errors in them). A few things:
- The pool is about 9000 gallons
- The pool will be buried about 36 inches (in other words, it will stick out of the ground about 18 inches).
- The company sent me the "above-ground" skimmer, which has 1.5" connections for flexible pipe
- Based on the size of the pool, I was going to use a 0.75 hp pump (specifically, the Hayward SP2605X7 Super Pump 0.75 HP Pool Pump) and a 120 sq. ft pool filter (cartridge).
My issue is that all of the pool filters I've looked at have 2" ports, and I had planned to hard pipe everything using 1.5" pipe.
Admittedly, I think I have to get some adapters so I can connect the 1.5" hard pipe to the skimmer and return, which have adapters on them that assume you're using flexible pipe.
But my main question is: can I add some adapters on either side of the filter to reduce the 2" port to 1.5" so it can easily connect to the rest of the system?
Or should I be trying to get the "in ground" skimmer (which I assume would have 2" pipe fittings) and trying to create a hard pipe system using 2" pipe?
Thanks,
Eric
