Hi there,
Today my pool pump wouldn't turn on. We have had no rain prior to this. I checked the electric box and was tripped so I reset it. Did some research on here to make sure the impeller would turn before I started it again. I turned it by hand (on the axle) and there was a "pop" sound, so maybe I released something. When I turned it on again, it did turn on. I ran it for 5 min (I had to leave) and the whole time it was very loud and noisy, much more than usual.
I came home a few hours later, it had rained, and I went to turn it on again. It immediately tripped. I tried to move the impeller again but too slippery to move. What is my next step? Do I assume the problem is within the pump (and get it repaired or replaced), or, the electrical box? Assuming it is the pump, I don't know whether to have a pool maintenance person come look at it, take it into to Watsons for repair, or consider replacing it. I am not comfortable opening it up at all myself.
Any thoughts, ideas, advice
?
Thanks,
Kristin
