So my pump went bad this weekend, needing to replace it. Model # SP2615X20… cant seem to find a direct replacement online, does anyone know of the updated version of this pump set up? Or could i go down to a 1.5 hp pump because i have found several of those. Pool size is a 20x40, roughly 35k gallons. New to pools in general any advice is welcome.

If you do not have a spa a 1.5HP SS pump should be fine. Although you will save on electricity cost over the life of the pump if you get a VS pump.

Show us pictures of your equipment pad and tell us what equipment you have - filter, heater, pool cleaner, etc.

How do you chlorinate your pool?

I have the 2hp hayward pump, with a sand filter, its a salt water pool so it has a salt cell to chlorinate it. No heaters or anything like that, just filtering the water.
