Hi all have a small issue with the pump priming dry and will be replacing the lid gasket and the drain plugs for the pump basket. My next thought was the replace the gasket on the vari valve could that also be an issue and if the one below the correct replacement thanks

I don’t think thats the correct gasket Here’s the parts list for your valve- you can call or shoot them an email to confirm fitment
Be sure to lubricate your new gaskets

New wrinkle any ideas of the size of the drain plug for the below

No clue unless you have the exact model number- I can’t really make it out. I suspect there’s not many different sizes for each manufacturer.
But I will tell you i was successful in getting mine out by heating up a flathead screwdriver and making an indentation on my stuck broken off plug. I just stuck it to the plug and held it there until it cooled before attempting to turn it.

I found mine on parts.com but i did have the exact model number and mine wasn’t as common as a Hayward. I hope you find what you need 🤞

Hayward SPX1700FG 1/4 inch plugs fit all the SP26xxxxxxxx models….. I’m thinking the Amazon Chinese parts are your issue despite being labeled correctly… or the broken plug may be causing fitament issues.

Yes that’s my problem I’ll have to either find oem on amazon for fast ship or go to the pool store which is fine also thanks guys as always

GM a word to remind myself is sometimes it’s easier to go and get the official parts

I'd cut them if they touched my water, but for this sorta thing I love the poolstore. I don't care it's $6 more when I'm up and running an hour after the XYZ broke.

Maybe you non 24/7 people can't understand, but a pool that's off..... *cringes*

Short lived success I’m afraid, still have a pool of water either side of the Hayward super pump housing and no water from the plugs any ideas where else it could be leaking from thanks all

Check under the bottom of the motor. Sounds like the shaft seal might be dripping which means it's gone.
