Pump plumbing leaking at the output.

First issue I’ve had with my pump since installed about 6 years ago. Is this a pump issue or simply a plumbing issue? Is there some sort of seal or O ring in that PVC? Maybe it just needs to be tightened? Not sure I have a wrench that will expand that wide but just trying to understand what I’m dealing with here. Hopefully I attached the
video correctly.

Turn the pump off, take the pump lid off to allow the water to drain.
Try tightening the union.
If that does not work, undo the union. The top should have an o-ring. Inspect (Replace if damaged), clean and lubricate with silicone LUBRICANT like Magic Lube II.
The bottom half should have a flat surface for the o-ring to seat, inspect and clean.
Reassemble.

None of my channel locks were wide enough to get around that union but I was able to get my hands around it and tighten it about a quarter inch, and that seemed to do it. Thanks!

Pump union should be hand tightened. Unions seal with the O-ring NOT by how tight the clamping ring is. If there is a leak then something is either: not tight enough (as you found), not aligned correctly, the O-ring is damaged, there is some sort of debris caught between the o-ring and sealing surface or the clamping ring is cracked from over tightening it.. You should be able to get any union in your pool plumbing to be leak free by hand tightening.
