Here’s my issue. Please help!!
Background info: I have 14x38 inground pool. Hayward s244t sand filter and Hayward super pump 700. Everything is 2 years old.

Opened my in ground pool myself. Primed..All good no issues but noticed pressure issues with return jets within an hour or so did the backwashing it was fine for another hour or so. Again, had to reprime the pump due to pressure issue. When I went to clean my pool I then noticed sand in my pool and then at the waste pipe.

Emptied sand filter, replaced lateral assembly due to it being cracked and new sand. I tore multivalve apart to see it wasn’t the spider gasket. Resealed gaskets and Put everything back together. Reprimed. Still same issue with pressure within an hour but no more sand in pool. I tried recirculate and within 30 minutes no pressure again. Pump basket cleaned. Pump Gasket looks good but lubed it up anyways. Still not priming properly.

I’m assuming air somewhere but figured I’d ask in case I Fudged up somewhere.

Went to my pool this morning and obviously have a leak somewhere. Bottom of the tape was where it started on 5/28

So now I’m confuzzled.

Welcome to TFP! Sounds like you've had a couple issues between sand and poor water circulation. Now what appears to be a leak. So let's recap:
1. The sand in your pool should've been resolved by your work on the laterals and/or the MPV, so we can leave that alone for now.
2. Pool water circulation is sometimes affiliated with excessive organics, especially at opening. But if you put the MPV on recirculate and water flow diminishes in 30 minutes, then something very odd is happening.
3. Potential leak. If you have a leak on the suction side from the skimmer and/or drain to the pump you would see indicators like air in the pump, loss of prime, bubbles in the return jets, and possibly lower filter pressure. You should not see water loss on that suction side as long as the break isn't too big and the pump is always on. When the pump stops, water can seep out of a crack. A leak on the pressure side is usually evident by went soil in the area. Of course you could have a leak in the liner, but that won't effect water circulation unless the pool's water gets so low that the skimmer can't stay fill as designed.

Can you post some pics of your equipment pad?

To be safe about the water condition, can you post a full set of water test results?
