Hey guys I hope someone can help! We have had a huge amount of rainfall last couple of weeks, and a 4 hour power outage earlier this week. Our pump is not running but display says our salt level is 2600, which is below what needs to be maintained. Is the pump not running because of low salt? If pump doesn't run, is adding salt going to matter? Pool is free of leaves and water clear. SWG set at 50% and pump set to run 5 hours a day. Trying to avoid costly house call because Santa is broke. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Probably best to ask the most obvious questions first:
- Have you checked the breaker(s)? Might have a couple locations (main and sub-panels) - Wait, your display is on, so you have power. Duh.
- If able (w/multi-meter), confirm proper voltage to pump?
- What type/model pump do you have? Best to add it to your signature as well.
- ANY sounds coming from pump when power is applied?
- Are you using any other automation?

Your salt level does not affect your pump operation. You have two separate problems. Splash above addressed what to look for with your pump problem. Once you get your pump running let the water circulate for 24 hours and if salt is still low you need to add salt to get it up around 3200 ppm in the pool.
Checked breaker it's fine but if we try to turn pump on there is a click but then nothing. We have a Hayward Aqua Plus SWG, 28,000 gallon in ground pool. It is digital, preset, we just control timers for run time, chlorine %. Our pump system is not covered, but installer said it didn't have to be. We have had at least 10+ inches of rain in a week so was not sure if that could be an issue with electrical. Pump is only a little over 2 years old. Will get voltage checked and go from there. Thank you. The only reason I mentioned salt level is because the installer told us a salt level too high or low would shut the generator off. At least I think that is what I remember him saying. We will get voltage checked

As Allen said, your salt level has nothing to do with your pump issue.
I would not bother adding salt right now. Your water temperature is no doubt too low for your SWCG to generate chlorine. So just test your FC weekly and add liquid chlorine to maintain your FC in the range for non-SWCG pool water using the FC/CYA Levels

You should have a single breaker and a double breaker. Move the double breaker switch to off and then back on.
When we do that, it trips. My husband says he's getting in touch with someone to check voltage. I just don't understand a brand new pump dying after 2 and a half years.
Just hoping nothing major...circuit board, relay or transformer. Like I said Santa is broke!

what is the model # of the pump ? If it's a ecostar VSP, you have a bad drive. That's what you hear when you flip the breaker and hear a click, but nothing happens...
