Pump not fully priming after manually vacuuming using the skimmer port [resolved]

Posting this in case it helps someone else in the future.

Today I was vacuuming a lot of leafs and after the 3rd round of cleaning the pump basket I could no longer get a full prime. After trying a lot of other things, I removed the basket and turned the pump off, and my fiance with her tiny hands reached to the impeller and pulled out a few leafs. Put everything back together and I have full prime one again.
