Pump motor replaced and can’t figure out leak

Have a circupool 3hp variable speed pump. Replaced the entire motor, shaft seal, impeller and diffusion plate. Finally got it put back together and it’s leaking all around the faceplate. Oring looked good and I wouldn’t think this was the shaft seal causing a leak at this perimeter. Ideas?

Looks like the O ring that seals that part is missing, out of place (easy to do), or damaged.
