We just came back from a 2 week trip. We had someone adding chlorine to pool every other day for maintenance. I noticed the water level was lower than normal evaporation and now discovered a leak at the seam of the pump. Any ideas what could have caused this or if it is fixable? The pump is 4 years old. We usually keep it on high 24/7 during the pool season. Thanks for any advice.

What is the make and model of the pump? Get the model # and post if you can...should be on the pump, not the motor.

Post a wider shot of the pump so we can see all parts of it, including the input and output connections.

It is either a shaft seal or a pump seal. Likely very fixable.

Post pics and make/model...we'll get you going...

Thanks! It’s a SharkJet/Calvin?
Model number in pic.

That is an old pump!

There are only a few places that indicate they have parts for this pump. The suppliers seem sketchy...not ones we would recommend...

I'd send an email to Carvin [email protected] , with your pump model number, and the picture below...and tell them you are looking for 4, 5, 11, and 12.
If they have them, or can give you the correct part numbers, then replacing them is fairly simple...remove the 4 bolts holding the motor to the volute, lubricate the orings with silicone lubricant. NO LUBE ANYWHERE NEAR #12...you need to not get grease/lube on it. Reassemble.

There is no Carver specific video that I can find, but here is a generic video that can help...

I said that because of the lack of parts for that model #.

It is not listed on the Carvin site as a current model (scroll down here):

If you can confirm the parts I listed above for your pump are the same parts as the ones on this page (link below), then get the parts from INYO. They are reputable...

Your pump is not listed on this page as compatible, but it looks like your pump...hope that helps!!!
