Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions...

I have a small leak on the seal where the motor connects to the pump. Is this a pretty easy DIY seal fix?

It looks like my model # is C48L2N134B3 ser# 08413CH

Yes, it is a pretty quick fix. Suggest you contact INYO Pools directly. Make this quick as the front bearing may dry out completely and sometimes the corrosion is so bad, that the pump is beyond repair. This happened to my pump. Moving forward, I will be bring the pump inside for the winter (have unions) and also, now the pump and pad are partially covered with an umbrella (that I had no use for), away from rain, sun, etc. Amazingly the color matches the sand filter.

Thanks! I've bought from INYO before and will contact them for the right parts.

I got the correct kit from INYO and replaced everything fairly easily... however, after reassembling and turning on the pump, the motor is turning but water is not moving... any ideas what i did wrong?

***EDIT***

user error... I 'primed' the system with water (something ive never had to do before) and it is working like a champ. the only problem now is, i still have a leak :(

It is recommended you take the pump apart again to see if there is water behind the seal. If so, clean the porcelain gasket and try resetting the unit again. The leak could be from somewhere else, but hard to tell.

Is it leaking from the same area?

After watching spending more time on Google, I realized I didn't tighten in the 1,3,5,2,4,6 pattern. So I took it apart, did a quick look and put it back together in the correct pattern and that ALMOST fixed the problem. I still have leaks on the top of the unit.

Call INYO Pools and speak to them. Send this picture over there. Maybe it is a different part. I believe there is a gasket somewhere after the shaft seal. Is that leak from the top or the bottom? Do not know how you took the picture. Maybe rain water? Or it was completely dry and then once you turned on the system, the leak started again.

Yea sorry its a way too close pic to show the whole story (its at the top). I wiped it down with a dry rag and then took a picture once it started leaking again to show where the source is coming from. I'll call INYO this afternoon.

From what I know, the shaft seal is design to keep water from entering the motor assembly. Mine leaked slightly (and it appeared not damaged at all, but does not take much), corroded the whole unit beyond repair and only damaged the front bearing. I watched many videos on You Tube (hours and hours) and there are a few gaskets in the assembly of different motors, so I am guessing another gasket somewhere. Do you recall anything else from taking the unit apart?
