pump issues!

So just got home and checked my hot tub. Pump #1 is a 2 speed but don't remember the brand nor the HP. Havn't been in there in a few yrs. Low speed works but as soon as i hit the button to switch to high it simply shuts down and will not restart for about 10 min then again, low works but not hi. Any ideas what I can check before running out to buy a new pump tomorrow? This one is 4 yrs old.
Almost tempted to hook up my brand new pool pump thats sitting in the garage.

There are separate power feeds to the low and hi speed sides of the pump. You can check voltage at the pump to see if you have power on the hi feed. If you have voltage then the motor has a problem. If you don't have voltage when on hi then you need to look back at your switch.

definitely the pump. I guess 4 years is average this will be 3rd pump in 8 yrs.

well...Bought a new pump. No need to install it apparently. Old pump started working again. Figures!!
