Pump issue or automation problem?

I have a customer who has reported to me that their pump will not turn on when the timer kicks in each morning. They have a Hayward 1HP Superpump which is wired to a Goldine PS4 system. It sounds like they are able to get it to come on by shutting down the main breaker to the panel and then hitting the 'filter' button. The pump will then operate all day until the timer turns it off. However, it will not turn on the next morning unless they go through the process of shutting off power to the PS4 unit etc.
When they initially described what was happening I assumed it may be an overheat issue with their motor. However, I replaced the motor temporarily with a motor I know does not have overheat issue and the result has been the same. After they relayed more information I found out that the pump would run continuously until the timer kicked it off which made the overhead situtation much less likely.
Any ideas? Is it possible that there is a problem with the relay in the PS4 timer preventing the pump from coming back on? Not sure how a breaker reset would fix that...

I had a customer with basically the same issue. I think it was a timer problem inside the board.
I just added a good old fashioned Intermatic timer next to the control box and powered it from the line side of the relay.
Cheaper than a new board.
