Pump For Above Ground Pool

Welcome to TFP! Initially I would say yes. Do you plan on having any additional water features like a fountain or anything? Additional return jets maybe? Is this pool going to be hard-plumbed with PVC, or are you using the factory (soft) flex lines? Is the equipment pad going to be next to the pool, or separated by some distance? Those details might also influence answers.

Thanks...

No additional features.
No additional jets.

Old pump:
Our current status: ( current pump is: sp2607x102s dual speed pump )

Since the old pump worked so well (no hard plumbing), we were told to find as close to a similar pump we could. Couldn't find a .75 HP pump anywhere so we got 1 HP dual speed. I checked with Hayward directly who said it would be a suitable replacement.

We bought the house at the end of the summer, it just happened to come with this circa 1990 Esther Williams pool (24' round 14,000 gal pool) . According to neighbor, it has not been open in a couple years, but looks to be in 'decent' shape, considering it's age. We're looking to get 10-15 years out of it, until kids graduate high school. We know we'll need to change the liner within a couple seasons.

Upgraded circuit to 240V....suppose to runsbetter and more efficient at that power.

Any help, feedback, suggestions, greatly appreciated. Thank you.
