Today my 2hp Hayward Northstar finally died. It won’t start and interestingly this causes rather loud breaker buzz. The pump itself seems to be quiet but it does get warm. Can anything be said about the failure from these symptoms? A failed capacitor would cause the pump to hum I’d think, not the breaker.

I think that’s it, the needle on my ohm meter doesn’t move. The shaft spins freely.
