Hello all! I’m trying to open pool and when I start the filter everything starts but after 3 or 4 minutes I lose suction. I have a Hayward EC65 DE filter, in a 24,000 gallon pool. I switched filters out and same thing is happening. We are using a bag of DE powder that is one year old (at least) and there is a chance it got damp at some point. Any suggestions would be welcome. Still a rookie with pools.

Losing suction is indicative of a suction side air leak. It is not a filter problem.

What model pump do you have?
Have you put Pool Lube - Further Reading on the pump lid O ring?
