Programming pentair quick buttons

Hello, looking for some help on figuring out why the quick button in my pentair psl4 isn’t controlling our water feature. I can turn it on through the app and it activates the actuator and turns up the pump but the button in the panel does not and last season it did. It was set up under the Aux 2 button.

I assume is the 4 button menu is what I want but have tried the spa option too (we do not have a spa fyi). There are a few different options under them including multiple circuits labeled waterfall and I have tried using both.

The waterfall circuit is assigned to the actuator and as stated previously does operate when I turn it on via the app.

Any help or ideas are appreciated.

Thanks.

What "quick button" are you talking about?

Do you have something connected to the spa side remote connector on the board? The 4 button menu is for setting what that connection controls.

I mean these buttons inside the panel. so my kids can turn on the water feature or lights from the panel as they don’t have access to the app. So the first button is filter, aux 1 is lights, aux 2 should be waterfall. Not sure what changed from last season when it closed and now. I haven’t even checked to see if the lights button works either I’ll have to test it.

The buttons for the AUX relays are not programmed.

They directly control the relays and devices wired to them.

The button itself may have failed if the app still controls the relay.

Interesting. So as long as I have the circuit set to the correct AUX it should function when that button is pressed? Is that my understanding?

This panel is only a year old so if that is the case may be covered under warranty.

Correct. It is all mechanical and electrical. The button is a mechanical switch on the board that switches the relay on.

This panel is only a year old so if that is the case may be covered under warranty.

Make a warranty claim with your builder or Pentair

I’m putting my solution on here should someone be searching and having a similar issue.

In my case it was a programming issue. The actuator valve was assigned to a “feature” so the aux 2 button in the panel needed to be assigned to that feature as well in order to activate the actuator not “aux 2” even though that is the button that controls it.
