What is the recommended procedure for the spa after moderate bather load per hour? Add chlorine and re-circulate spa water, or allow pool water in for a while to return spa water to pool?

I think most people just dump the spa water over into the pool. Most are roughly 600 gallon spas and so any pool larger than 12,000 gallons is going to see only a fractional increase in bather waste.
If you felt like the spa water is really gross from sweat and sunblock, then you might let it run afterwards for a bit (turn off the heater) and dump a shock level load of liquid chlorine into it. For most spas, that’s around 16 fl oz of 10% LC.
