How to Sterilize My 900 gallon Spa after 12-15 Teenager Use

Hello,
I have had my pool and attached Spa for around 13 years. We close our pool end of September and keep the attached spa open until beginning of December. I now have a teenager who brings his friends over to use the pool and spa and no joke have had 15 teenagers in the spa at one time. When the pool is open its not a problem to get fresh water into the spa after everyone leaves. Not use to this many people after the pool is closed and what to do after the gatherings. The spa is a 900 gallon octagon, CYA 45, usually keep the FC around 10 and dose back up to that level for minor use for a couple of people. Whats the game plan after a 12-15 teenager event? Do I bring it back up to 10ppm? Shock it after (I use liquid chlorine). Do I also use a non chlorine shock in conjunction with the liquid chlorine? I usually add borates 50ppm to the spa after closing the pool but I think I will wait until really colder temps when the freeze protection runs all the time to help keep the ph down. With 12-15 teenagers going in I will need to add water after each event to bring the water level back up. So what do you think my game plan should be? Thanks!

Make each of the 12-15 teenagers pay $20 a piece to use the spa …. they’ll find something else to do in short order OR you will be $300 to the good every time they show up. You’ll need that money to keep up with the chemical purchases …

What’s the fc usually like after this type of event?
My concern is that fc drops below minimum during the event and cooties can be passed person to person.
You don’t wanna be the house where everyone got folliculitis (hot tub rash)- or at least I am sure your kiddo doesn’t want to be THAT kid.
To eliminate this possibility I would add some fc during.
At my house I enforce a 30 minute soak limit for kids/teens before needing a break.
partially because of the risk of overheating (my spa is hot 103-104) & this break also allows me to add some liquid chlorine.
Your spa is a bit larger at 900 gallons but that’s still alot of kiddos in a little body of water. Its like having 200 people in your pool.

I know pretty crazy.....LOL!! I'm think I'm going to try to keep it down to only a smaller bunch of kids at a time and keep the FC up during. Not a bad idea to add some FC after a break. I believe Pool Geek had indicated in past threads that each person burns about 1.5ppm of FC per hour. I'll take it up to 12ppm and have them add some FC after a break. Thanks for the advice and wish me luck LOL!
