Hello, I’ve been reading previous threads about prime speeds with VSP’s. I have an Intelliflo VSP. My pool pump and equipment is far from the pool, above it, and there are a lot of twists and bends. The prime speed came defaulted at 2500 but I have a lot of air in the system that doesn’t clear. I need to normally run my pump at around 3000 to keep the waterfall flowing and pool cleaner moving. Can/should I set the prime higher to clear that air and get it moving better? How high can I set it safely? Thanks.

You can set the prime speed to maximum 3450 RPM if you want. See if it makes a difference.

You can get air after priming from a suction side air leak.

Thank you. When I set the speed all the way up to maximum 3450 it does clear the air, I just was not sure that was ok for initial prime. I also considered starting the system at max 3450 (after a lower prime) for a few minutes before turning it down to usual speeds. I have so many long runs and twists and turns I know there is considerable resistance but can’t change that. I’ve checked for suction side leaks, lubed O rings, none obvious. Thanks again.

Experiment and see what works best with your setup. No two pools are identical.
