Pressure guage keeps decreasing/increasing, low pressure. Help!

Hello!

-pool pressure gauge normally says 20+
-Now it stays less than 10 pressure and randomly goes back up to 20 but quickly back down.
-already back washed rinse etc etc. Don't see any leaks or blockage
-cant even vacuum bc when it cycles low pressure hose falls off

Any idea what to do or do we need to call someone to fix. Thank you!

How about your skimmer weir (flap) door? Is it operating properly? Water level high enough for good flow?

What is happening in the pump basket when the pressure is fluctuating? That is why they put a clear cover on them.

Check the pressure gauge first and check that nothing is blocking the gauge orifice.

Does the gauge go to 0 when the pump is off?

For $15 you can get a new gauge ...

Yes- there's enough water.

The gauge is fine. When the pressure goes down, nothing is happening in the basket. When it goes back up, activity in the basket is normal.

Define "nothing is happening"
Explain how the pump basket looks when you see the 2 different pressures.

When my pressure was lower than normal it turned out I sucked a bunch of pine needles into the impeller and partially clogged it.
