Pressure gauge stuck?

My pressure gauge was sitting up around 24psi the last few days. It normally sat around 14. I assumed this was due to vacuuming up some leaves creating a clog somewhere.

I'm winterizing today and took down the pump and filter. I also opened up the filter to give it a good clean. That's when I noticed the gauge is sitting around 10psi when the tank is completely disconnected and empty.

Do I need to get a new gauge?

Yes - consider a glycerin filled gauge with a range of 0-30 psi. The 0-30 psi gauge is better than 0-60 psi so you can see small changes on the expanded scale.

No need to install the new gauge until you open the pool in the spring.

Also, after replacing the gauge, be sure to remove it in the winter & store it inside to prolong its life.

They're usually the first casualty of pool equip. Good news is.....they're cheap.
