Ok after a through brushing and vacuum. I’m seeing spots like these . They almost look “rusty” . But don’t move with a fingernail scratch.
Ones in pic are on first step. There are several others in diff areas.
I’m just realizing we must have heavy amounts minerals in our water . I’m not sure exactly which minerals .
I “canned” jam this week. (For the first time)
Boiling jars in water for 5 min with a wire rack in the bottom of a stainless steel pot (to keep jars off bottom) .
After maybe 6 boiling session and hours of the rack being in the water/ pan I saw these same kind of spots on the bottom of the pan where the rack “legs” were. Vinegar took most of them off. If that is at all helpful to diagnose the pool spots . Also the jars were covered with a powdery white residue after cooling
