losing a lot of water this past season - not sure if its due to leaks or just a very hot dry season without much rain. Our pool is 26 yo and the plaster is stained a bit from leaves and algea but overall looks ok, We just closed it and the pool closer i use said he had to cement around a spa return jet because it was leaking air and he wasn't getting a seal when he tried to blow air through the lines, We have 8 returns in the raised spa and 1 or 2 in the pool.....could the cement issue have caused a water leak inside the walls of the stone spa?
if not is it worth it to track down a leak given the cost of repairing an underground line? I would assume it has to be thousands to dig up concrete and run new lines. I guess i could run some tests based on youtube videos i have seen and see if the water goes down in 24 hours with pumps running and 24 hours with everything off and then troubleshoot but just looking for some feedback.
pending feedback here i guess i will wait till next season and see if the cement fix works and possibly run the 24 hour tests just to get a baseline.....our season is 5/15 to 9/15.
