Good afternoon. Just finished a SLAM. passed overnight test w/zero loss Thursday morning. Test CL today and it had dropped 5ppm since Thursday. Test today just now. That seems like a lot but it IS hot and there is NO sign of algae anywhere and we followed all the procedures to a T. Just making sure....

Maintain your FC based on the FC/CYA Levels
In your climate the loss of 3-4 ppm FC per day should be expected.
Test FC daily and add chlorine back to above target level for CYA.

I'm so excited and decided the next time the pool gets algae due to hub's negligence, I am going to let HIM slam the pool. it's a PITA to do! BUT I wanted to make sure it was done right and I read and reread the instructions myself w/out relying on him. We hadn't had algae in a while.
