Post build landscaping

Hi all, nearing the completion of my pool and all of my grass has been destroyed. Thinking of replacing grass with DG and rocks similar to the design attached. Any advice on DG? Any cons to having rocks and DG? Will DG need to be replaced often after heavy rain?
