Possible New Pool In Central FL

So today the bubblers for epoxied into place and I'll pressure test them tomorrow to ensure they'll hold.

No other progress on the pool today because today our solar power expansion is getting installed. This will offset the operating costs of the pool and also the increased costs of working from home. This also includes 3 batteries that will run the house in the event we loose power but at this time not the pool pumps.

Electrical is done! I've been playing around with the automation to get everything setup ahead of time.

Unfortunately we have 2 bad lights (1 pentairband 1 CMP)

Retaining wall work continues hoping to finish everything next week.

I assume that you are using LED's. I think most pool lights are not to be turned on out of the water, for more than about 30 seconds. I know mine have a warning in the instructions. The water helps keep them cool.

Correct they are LED's we just turned them on for 10 seconds to ensure they were working.

Quick question.... Can you change these lights without draining the pool or do you have to drain it until they are not underwater?

Gotcha. Just wanted to make sure. There was a build thread where the lights were turned on for a while without water and there was fear that they were damaged. I don't recall if they worked or had to be replaced.

No idea about changing them. I have Pentair globrites and supposedly those have a track record of failing after just a couple of years. So I was wondering the same thing myself, if I would have to drain in order to replace them. Hopefully someone who knows better will stumble in shortly.

Most of them can be changed underwater the conduit is considered wet. Never use wire pulling lube for wet conduit the chlorine will gum up the silicone in the gel. Liquid soap is best if needed down the road

So progress update..... Found out the bubbler light issue is from a bad cable (waiting on a replacement). The Pentair light will be looked at in a couple weeks.

Bad news.... I fired the retaining wall company for incompetence and I am currently in the process of removing all their rebar (built backwards) while I search for a new company to help me out.

So first post in a couple weeks.... New wall crew is supposed to start tomorrow so fingers crossed this one goes better. The bubbler issue was a bad cable but then when I hooked it up I figured out the colors were different between the two. After troubleshooting it appears we have 1 Pentair bubbler control module and 1 Haywood bubbler control module so they have to send me a replacement light. Still waiting on the pentair warranty people to come out for the other light.

Wall is progressing nicely and looks much better than it did last time. Hoping to have concrete in place early next week.

Spa light was replaced this morning as well and resolved that issue so we're making a little progress.

Working through which interior finish we want to go with now.

Yeah we've been through there but it's always hard to pick from a picture. We want something darker and deep blue. Initially we were looking at Stonescapes midnight blue but we are a little concerned about green hint and also water temperature being high in the summer. We also like this pacific blue from the company we're using Pacific | Magic Marcite

Side question... Once the wall goes in I have to get the patio graded before the paver company comes in. I was going to have my final grade person do this since there is a good bit of dirt to move (I'll compact with a tamper) but is this the right process or should I do final grade after the patio goes in so the patio company doesn't disrupt the grading.

Thank you we hit a couple snags with a bubbler issue and footer company I had to fire that set us back so we're taking longer than we would like but once the footer gets in hopefully everything will finish up smoothly.

Well yesterday we successfully passed the footer inspection and we are all set to pour on Tuesday (they were booked for Monday ) I did have to call the electrician back out for a 2nd time due to sloppy work. Started with a loose flex pipe and then finding loose power wires one of the pumps and a whole bunch of loose conduit joints. They came our last night and fixed everything up so we should be good to go on that side.

Does anyone have any input on the final grade thing? I'm really trying to figure out the best way to back fill my patio to bring the elevation up and there is no way to drive a bobcat over it.

Yeah I was afraid of that I thought if I could do final grade before the patio went down we could use the bobcat to move the dirt and then rent a jumping jack tamper to compact it but I'm not sure if it's too early to do final grade or not
