Hi There!
Im a new pool owner of a 5,500 gallon above ground. Pool was up in May and started seeing issues with Algae July 3rd. Shocked the Crud out of it, scrubbed everything down, cleaned filters, manually vacuumed (removing waste from pool), and have put in Algacid. The green slime went away and pool is crystal clear however I'm batteling what appears to be a different type of algae. Each day I'm manually vacuuming the pool its became a real chore. The sediment is in the cracks, pool floor, and very light on the walls, ladder, and skimmer. Today I turned the pump on and boom just like that after a few minutes of running the pump its back! I'm thinking the pump is causing it? The pump I have is the original pump intex provides (thanks Intex) which is a Krystal Clear Model 635T. I plan on upgrading to a salt pump next year. But in the meantime trying to make it work with what I got!
Does anyone have any ideas, do you think this a mustard or brown alage or some other issue at hand? My test kit is a basic test strips with the exception I have the drops for PH and Chlorine results.
PH 10
Total Hardness 500
Total Chlorine 10
Free Chlorine 10
PH 7.2
Total Alkalinity 240 (I bought Acid Magic, have used about 12 oz, 6 oz at a time and doesn't budge)
Stablizer 50
