Portable Device Chargers - Terrible Wastes of Energy

I have an update kind of following on from the above. I charged my ipad today via the meter and these are the results;

IPad at 21%. - Charging.
PF 0.40 - 0.38, 12W, 30-31VA, 255.17 - 255.72V, 50.00Hz, 0.12A.

Ipad at 100%. - Fully charged and still plugged in.
PF 0.00, 0W, 0VA, 249.80V, 50.00Hz, 0.00A.

PS. I hope everyone is safe over there in Texas, things looked pritty bleek on the news last night.

Haha, great one to mention :)

Americans won't relate to this as much as Aussies, but we have on-off switches on our power points (wall plugs). Easily 1/3 of people I've asked believe that leaving them switched on with nothing plugged in consumes power. That little tidbit came from one of these news magazine type TV shows, but around 1/2 of the 1/3 mentioned above said that "it's on the power company website." Many people will even throw in... they said it's $8 a year for every one that's left switched on.

Imagine if every wall plug in the USA was consuming power whenever nothing is plugged in, lol.
