I've posted in the past about my troubles with the Florida Sunseeker Pooltone Nicheless LED Lights ( Jandy Nicheless LED Replacement ). Short version: install three new lights, used very little, two quit working and broke at the 'stem' (center red line) and showed corrosion at the internal screws (red circled areas) the next season; out of warranty so FS offered me a discount on two new ones.

As I'm prepping to install the lights for this season, I had a thought that may help extend their lives a bit and wanted to run it past the TFP experts. If I coated the backside of the fixture with Flex Seal spray, would that hold up in pool water? My hope is it would protect from corrosion at the little screws and potentially keep water out of any small gaps or cracks in the housing that would fry the internals. I would protect the threads from getting coated to ensure they screw into the fitting.

If Flex Seal won't work, is there any other product I could try? Looking anything that might extend the lives of these things because once this set dies I can't see investing in more of these type lights.

Where is Mythbusters when you need them?

I doubt Flexseal will help much. Maybe buy you another season. But I can't see it hurting so worth a try.

Give us a report in a few years of how your lights are holding up.

Figure it's worth a shot. Wanted to check if there was any obvious concerns with using Flex Seal in pool water. Hoping it helps, even a little. Anything to extend the investment in these things will help me feel better lol. I'll give it a shot and share the results. If anyone has other suggestions please feel free to chime in!

You may be onto something regarding the flex seal. I keep losing my PoolTone lights and this post shows the way they look when they come out!

I never did get around to installing our lights this year. So, haven't tried the flex seal as of yet. Planning to get on it early next season. Yours were in crazy bad condition! Obviously this is an issue PoolTone should be taking more responsibility for, but I won't be risking it with them again once my current lights go bad.
