Ok - been awhile but their TF100 arrived in good time (thanks guys!) - been plugging away with that - now with half a clue what I'm working with!
Pool is clear as in can see right thru it unobstructed but I'm not sure I'd call it crystal clear (blue, gin-clear, like can't see water there). But by now could that faint green be in my mind? Might their liner colour have taken on a hint of green that I can't tell? Might it be a general 'reflection' from all the trees around?
Been holding shock (18 - oops! Should be 16 but remembered 18 from my 45cya!) for the re-acquired 40 cya.
Yesterday evening:
FC 18? (wasn't sure if I did one extra drop; swirled a bit careless and just a TOUCH of it slopped over/out.
Ran FC again and got 19.5?
CC .5 both times (barely pink - 1 drop & gone)
CH irrelevant for vinyl? Tested once and was not sky high but don't recall the number
CYA 40 on repeated tests across days
TA WA-AAY up around 200!?!
pH tested as clearly above 8.2 but don't recall if I did this in the brief moment their FC was <10.
Stupidly and forgetfully added muriatic acid to bring that (& TA) down - with FC at shock (18).
pH last test SHOWED 7.3 but who knows? (FC at 18)
This morning (and yesterday was a very un-Texan cloudy day as is this morning) :
FC definitely 18
CC .5 again
CYA still 40
Didn't bother with CH, pH, or TA.
Is it true that pool $tores manage to manage metal tests pretty well? They said all were zero and if I recall in this thread one of you felt metals were not the issue (?)
I'm not sure how well they're brushing - I'm gonna get on them more about that - have their young son grab a brush awhile whenever he's in.
Could inadequate brushing lead to a perfect OCLT but still a green tint (assuming I'm not imagining it) ?
Before I get even lo-onger (as ever :blah: ) I will shut up and give chance to hear from some smart people instead of just myself...!...
OCLT perfect - 18 and 18; .5 and .5
CYA 40, TA sky high (200ish), pH - ??!! (SAYS 7.3)
Green tint - or my imagination - in their 6000G pool-in-a-box with all standard pumps, cartridge filters, etc)
