When I tap "Add Chemicals", I must then tap "Choose a Chemical Type..." and then search through a list of ~30 chemicals to select the one I'm adding, either via text search, or via scroll and tap. This works fine, but it requires multiple taps or text entry, and seems overkill and slows things down since 99% of the time I'm adding bleach, muriatic acid, or baking soda. I'll never use most of the chems in this list and as such I don't want or need to see them. I know not everyone uses the same chems I do, but I'm willing to bet most folks repeatedly use a small subset of chems just like I do.

I would love to see the app display either a 'recents' or a user-defined 'favorites' (my preference) list of chems, where such a list either:
  • appears by default on Add Chemicals screen (before tapping "Choose a Chemical Type")
  • appear at top of existing list (after tapping "Choose a Chemical Type"), i.e. make recents/favorites its own category before "Sanitizer" category
This would streamline app usage for anyone using this function.

Yes, I know I can add chems by tapping the tiles on the Home Screen and using "Log addition...", and I do use that. However, I still use "Add Chemicals" frequently. For example, I add LC every day but sometimes I test FC every other day. On the days where I add LC without testing FC, I use "Add Chemicals" rather than the home/tile screen. [EDIT: In hindsight, I realize that is a bad example because for this specific case Bleach is already the first thing in the list, but I still use "Add Chemicals" for other things, too.]

Hi there,

Thank you for the detailed feedback and suggestions. We're in the midst of some significant updates behind the scenes. Once we've completed these, we'll circle back and review this idea about having a 'favorites' or 'recents' section for chemicals as I do see a benefit in this idea. Your input is truly invaluable, and it helps guide our improvements. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Am I the only one that got all excited and giddy when they read this? Asking for a friend.

You're definitely not alone in your excitement! It's always thrilling to see progress and updates. However, I want to set the right expectations for the upcoming changes. The next update might feel a bit underwhelming on the surface, but that's because most of the work is happening behind the scenes.

Our developer has been focused on migrating our roughly 6-year-old code to more modern coding languages. While this might not result in immediate flashy changes that you can see, it's a foundational step that's critical for our platform's future. Once this transition is completed and we've ironed out any initial bugs, and there will be some, we're optimistic about diving into all the fun and innovative features that we know we all wanna see!

Hi @Leebo, any chance this feature is on the roadmap now that the app overhaul has been rolled out?

The new app UI seems slightly easier to choose chems from the big list, but still tedious to have to scroll through 27 chemicals I never use in order to select LC, MA, or baking soda. Would be so nice to have them appear at the top of the list via 'favorites' or 'recents'.

Over the last few we’ve mainly been viewing/patching errors still from the last update as we continue to make it as stable as can be. We’re still mot fully where we wanna be before moving forward, but we’re getting there.
