pool timer not working after rewire

Hi, can someone help me diagnose what the issue might be here
got this installed about 3 years ago new, the timers for the light and the pump live on that box
a month ago the pool light timer stoped keeping time so I bought a new motor, still did not keep time, (I could feel the gears moving)
so today I bought a brand new unit and installed exactly the way the original was wired, now not only does it not keep time but I can feel that the gears are not moving
this timer turns on and off the pool light, manually the pool light still works
could the wiring be at fault here?
looks like the timer motor is wired to slots A&1

The timer motor is for 240V and you have it connected to 120V.

You bought the wrong model timer.

What model number did you have and what did you buy?

Since I don't know where the black and white wires that come up from the bottom of the picture go to I can't say if it is correct.

I don't know what else you may have confused.

Wire to terminal 1 comes from breaker. Wire on terminal 2 goes to light. Won't hurt to use it.

You asking about 120V motor wiring or 240V wiring?

120V motor wiring is neutral to A and hot wire to 1.

240V motor wiring is hot wire to 1 and hot to 3.

It appears to be wired correctly, just wrong voltage clock motor.
Clock motor wires attach to A and 1.
Power to light is attached to 2. Neutral to A. Just as you have it.
Your timer is a T103. Right now 3 and 4 aren't being used. A T101 doesn't have the contacts on the back. Its not a problem.
