Ok salt
Level was tested at 3100 - they told me to add a bag of salt. (40 lbs) theNSWG is running at 40% salt. My question is , if I just adjust he salt level to 60% or 80% wouldn't that almost solve the low salt level? I bought the bag anyway since I need it later but I just don't want to waste $ ... TIA

Not sure I understand your question. The output of a SWCG does not depend on the salt level in the pool, either there is enough salt for the unit to work or there is not.

Most SWCG's generate at 3100 ppm salt.

Take care.

dk,

It appears that you are under the impression that a SWCG makes salt.... this is not at all how they work. You put salt in the water and when this salty water passes through the SWCG, electricity is used to change some of the salt water into chlorine gas. The chlorine is what is used to sanitize your pool water.

The % of output is used to adjust how long the SWCG produces chlorine per hour. Running a SWCG at 100% for one hour, produces the same amount of chlorine as when you run it at 10% of 10 hours.

Thanks,

Jim R.
