Good morning everyone,

Had a pool company managing our pool and had an algae bloom so a friend recommended TFP, bought the test kit and started a slam over the weekend. The pool folks had added a poolrx blue unit to our skimmer in the pump, I removed it yesterday when washing the filters.

I drained out more than half of the water in the pool before I started the slam, but based on a 90 CYA I understand I'll need to pull a large % of water out of the pool again to get down to the app's recommended 45. The app also recommends adding muriatic acid to bring down the TA, I had read that there was a way to measure your pool size (it's unknown to me at the moment). It measures 36x22 with a deep end about 12ft, and extended baja shelf, I plan on figuring out the size as I get into adding known chemical quantities. I've attached some pictures of the state of the pool, it looks beautiful to my eye but maybe you guys can see something I don't. What should I start with to get this thing dialed? Can we swim in it tomorrow for the 4th of July?

Current stats are
Last night:
FC 15
PH 7.6
TA 130
CH 525
CYA 90
TEMP 83

This morning
FC 13.5

Everything is fine. Don't fret over TA. Leave it alone. Manage your pH by lowering to 7.6 or so when it reaches 8.0. TA will come down over time.

Keep your FC in range for your CYA. Link-->FC/CYA Levels

Or start the SLAM. Your choice.

It is safe to swim when FC is higher than minimum, all the way up to, and including SLAM level for your CYA.

When you make your next addition of acid or liquid chlorine, make the addition and test the result. Adjust your pool volume so pool math gives you the result of your test with that addition amount.

Enjoy the swim.
