Pool Sock and CYA

If I have a pool sock on my skimmer baskets is it okay to to just poor dry cya into it?

I think the issue is the CYA is quite acidic. With the socks, you won't have the issue of the granules going into the pool filter. Most people do the "sock in front of return" thing.

Like James said, the CYA is a bit acidic. If you do not turn off the pool pump until the CYA is completely dissolved, it will not be an issue to dump it into the skimmer sock.
