When we discovered we were expecting a baby, we needed to move into a home with a yard (walking the dog 6 times a day would be less practical). And I insisted that if im spending another summer in Houston, it wouldn’t be without a pool…

After looking at over 70 homes.. we found the one… And it had a pool… which needed work. The surface was wearing off, the cantilevered deck was broken and lifted in several places, there was a tree that was dangerously close to causing problems. and the deck was way too tall (water and overflow sloped to the doors. The spa was WEIRD.. it was previously a corner tub maybe 3’ x 3’ and 8’ deep. if you got up off the bench, you were in over your head… Pool was about 14’ x 28’ with a weird deep wing opposite the spa that made the back deck difficult to maneuver. And 8’ deep (Really steep slope).

And he promised to be done before my first Fathers Day

Raised Bottom to 6’
Filled in Corner
We rebuilt the spa
Added a tanning deck (baja shelf?)
New plumbing.
Travertine coping,
New Concrete/Cool deck - lowered the deck (and sloped the deck to the pool. I know this is not ideal, but there’s limited drainage in the back and adding an over flow drain to the pool as well as the French drains around the deck was important. I’d rather tend to my chemistry than flood my house)
New Tile.
New Plaster (Tahoe Blue mini pebble)
New skimmer
Hydrocool LEDs (3 pool, 1 spa)
Added dual Main drains in both pool and spa
