Sorta newbie, lurker for a while. I have a 25000 gal in ground pool. It’s oldish and I thought why not drain it and do some repairs. Missing tiles should be easy but I was gung ho to paint the pool surface until I read on here. My question is this…if you’d never paint a pool because it’ll eventually peel (makes sense) can you STAIN the plaster instead? I’d just love to take this stained white pool and make it grey. Thanks for all you do here!

Welcome to TFP.

No, paint and stains do not adhere to plaster well.

Best to begin saving up to replace the plaster with the finish of your choice.

Your pool does not look TFP Clear (tm) and I suggest you learn about our pool care methods.
