How DE much did you add this time? What do you use to measure your DE. 3 lbs sounds about right for your filter, however if you are currently running it without DE then you shouldn't do that. You may need to chemically clean the grids.

If you went way over it could... Your filter takes 4.5 lbs when just cleaned... It takes 3 lbs when just back washed.
Keep in mind you can't back wash forever as only 80% comes out.. The next time only 60% comes out, etc..
Sounds like you got it working.
If your pool is green, it will clog a DE filter within hours.

Pool is currently blue but cloudy. Gonna take a water sample to pool supply and see what I need. Aiming for a crystal clear pool by next weekend. Thank you everyone for the help.
I just added 3 lbs, mixed each scoop with 5 gallons of water and added directly into the skimmer. I have a DE scoop from pool supply store
Like Jim said, if you hadn't completely cleaned out the old DE the recharge may have been too much. Keep an eye on your pressure and backwash when your pressure increases by 20%.
