Just noticed today that my pool pump sometimes loses prime then regains and cycle repeats. I made sure no air lock within my sand filter by releasing any air in system. Also checked and cleaned all skimmers. What is typical cause for this issue?

It is rare to have a suction side leak in the piping. The likely place is at the pump basket lid, pump drain plugs, fittings or valves on the suction side, or the skimmer weir door is stuck closed, or the skimmer basket is full of debris.
