Pool Pilot Digital - Check System light is blinking with a not so verbose error msg...

Hi - after years of drama-free service my Pool Pilot 'CHECK SYSTEM' light is blinking red.

It now alternates between the usual display, ie:

Purifier 70%
1:32AM 87F ON

and this new message:

WARNING! Check/C

So I did the only thing I know to do: Menu -> "Test Pool Pilot" and see the following output:

Software V4.2
Cell = SC-48
Power level 1
Minerals=3200ppm
Temperature=97F
Cell=29V 3.5A

Anyone know what I might be looking at here? The pool seems to be clean and clear, but blinking red light can't be a good thing.

Thanks

Most likely a bad cord, a failing cell or a scaled cell. Check the cord connections for any damage and check the cell for scale. Clean the cell only if scaled.

Verify the actual salinity with a K-1766 salt test kit.

How old is the system?

Probably a failing cell. Check for scale and check the cord.

If the cell is clean and the cord is good, the cell is probably failing.

You might be able to get through the season by increasing the salinity.

If you're going to close soon, maybe switch to liquid chlorine and get a new cell next year.

When you replace the cell, replace the cord.
