I am just starting the install of an Intex 9x18x52 XTR pool and looking for the best options for a pool pad and came up with this as an idea... Level land, little sand to take up the imperfections, gorilla pad and then: 1/2 Inch Rubber Mat

I am just not sure if I want 1/2" or 1/4". Thoughts on my idea?

That mat looks awesome!!! OH please use it and tell us how it is to work with.

Is there any way you can get your feet on them to see what if feels like under your feet to help you pick out the side before you buy it.

Which ones did you use? My only concern with the ones I found were them potentially separating over time even though they weigh in at 65lbs ea.

I found the recommendation on a thread somewhere in here before our pool was installed for a Happy Bottom pool pad. It's amazing. The pool installer was pretty impressed too when he was putting the liner in. It's four years old now and obviously the weight of the water will compress any "padding" down but it's still a lot softer on the bottom than other pools I go in. It was well worth the expense. Especially since it adds the protection for the liner from small rocks and other things working their way up over the years.
