Looks great Monte! I'm glad to see you stuck with us. Enjoy it.

They definitely work well. I'm not sure I like the discount supplier one though from the magazine. (Intheswim?) If it's chintzy it will sag quickly and then they're harder to roll/unroll. Then again, if you get a couple years out of it and it's dirt cheap.......they make roll up reel for an above ground pool that CLIPS on to the top of the pool rim. Does anyone know about these or can recommend
No its Leslies pool supply. But i think the cost is more. The pole is 129. But the ends are separate????? Holy moly?? Unfair advertisingThey definitely work well. Hang tight to see if anyone has one they like.
Yeah. 11k gallons of properly chlorinated water doesn't care.that ok?? This is a first for us Ha ha
I like to stay 10 ahead of our heavy rains. I'm never sure if storm 3 or 5 will be the one to finally reguster its low. Somid dose to 40 anytime you find it a 30 on your monthly check. 1 pound of CYA should do the trick. At what number should i start to consider adding some of that stabilizer and again with what quantity in the sock to bring it to lets say 40 again?
I read Pauls234 reply about a heater. Do u have any ideas?Yeah. 11k gallons of properly chlorinated water doesn't care.

Thanks for the info of a gas heater. But if u would. Remember when i had my 1st gas heater i was not balancing my chemicals properly and it ate away at the heater rods inside the chassis of the heater. Being that i now only use liquid bleach thanks to u people do u think a gas heater woukd last linger? Or which unit is more maintenance free? A gas heater or heat pump?I'd seriously consider a gas heater, and it sounds like you may already have a gas line in place from previous?
Get as large as you can afford - a larger heater does not cost anymore to operate but will heat faster. I have a 400k BTU heater and it gives my 21k gal pool about 2 degrees per hour, which for our swimming habits is pretty much heat on demand. I can turn it on at 8am and have a nearly 10 degree increase by noon, so we only run it when we are going to swim vs. having it maintain a constant temp.
After 1 season with the heater I tossed my solar cover in the garbage. I decided it was worth spending a few more $ to recover the overnight heat loss and never have to deal with a solar cover again.
There may be other considerations - I had to have the gas company add a larger supply line to the house, for example.
Your CYA question - anything over 30 you should treat as 40. If you get definitively at/below 30 then use pool math to calculate what you need to add 10ppm, back to 40.
I Think a heat pump would be better for your planned usage. During the regular season it will be cheaper to run. Your pool gets closed early so its not like mine that we might swim laaaaaate in the season if we could warm the wster.Do u have any ideas?
