pool not filling

we have had a hot summer, but it's happened before, I have had my pool for 20 years. The autofill is filling, but it's not going to the pool. I have cleaned the line between the pool and the autofill tank, still no water coming into the pool. I am wondering if there could be a leak a leak in the holding tank and it's siphoning water out of the pool, any ideas on how to check this?

Welcome to TFP

Plug the line coming into the autofill tank and turn the autofill off.. see if the water stays in the tank or leaves... use food coloring dye to find the leak
